can't move documents from mounted folder

HI--

First of all THANK YOU for this amazing, elegant piece of software.

I have a situation where I'm running a VM in Ubuntu on my Mac OS X 10.11.16. I have a keyboard maestro macro that automatically mounts a shared folder from that VM to the mac Desktop, and checks every 15 min. if it gets unmounted to remount.

I have two rules setup on that shared folder:

1) Copy to a folder on the mac, and
2) Move folder/files whose Creation Date is not within the past 7 days to the trash.

Rule 1) works flawlessly
Rule 2) does not. The files just stay there, well past 7 days. Preview shows that they are being triggered.

so in reading up i downloaded "What's Keeping Me" and ran it on the mounted VM folder. It says that in addition to hazelhelper diskumountwatcher was running. I killed everything no luck.

I changed the Keyboard Maestro macro to run every hour. So far no more diskunmountwatcher. but still no luck.

I changed "move to trash" to move to temporary Folder in the Mac Documents folder. No luck. still stuck

finally in checking the "Status" in Hazel Pref pane, here is the weird, recursive error as to why the folders can't be moved:

6 minutes ago : Could not move file FILENAME from (mounted) folder Ubuntu to folder FILENAME.

Like it's trying to copy the folder onto itself.

Have restarted, again no luck. Any ideas? Thanks so much and I apologize if I've overlooked something in the troubleshooting process

I suggest going through the troubleshooting guide here: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/hazel-tro ... ing-guide/

Post the relevant excerpt from the logs when you get to that part in the guide.

OK apologies for not having done this earlier. Log clearly shows it's a permissions issue, and if I try to delete a file from the finder i end up with:

"The operation can’t be completed because you don’t have permission to access some of the items."

Get Info on the shared mounted folder says I have "Custom permissions"

So clearly Hazel is trying but can't move the file.

**Note: copying at the finder level does work.

Anybody have issues with permissions on mounted folders from other OSes?

If it's a shared network folder, you'll probably need to modify the permissions at the source.
