Run rules on a folder based on content Sun Oct 30, 2016 8:03 pm • by leftnotracks
I'd like to run rules on uncompressed folders based on the folder’s content. I don’t see how to do that. For example I download a ZIP file and move it into the Archives folder in my Downloads folder. I unzip the file producing a folder full of JPEG images. This much I can do.

But now I want to move the folder to my Images folder. This is where I get stuck.

Check out this article on creating nested conditions: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/how-to-cr ... onditions/

When doing that, you'll see an extra pop-up indicating the target of the conditions under it. You can set that to "any/all of its sub-files". When doing that, any conditions under that nested condition will apply to files underneath that folder. You can then have it match if any or all of the files are images. Note that the whole rule still applies to the folder itself so the actions will move the folder, not the files.
