Rules won't complete until new document scanned Tue Jan 28, 2025 10:07 pm • by jormsby
I have noticed an issue which may be related to the new version of Hazel.

I have several rules related to different monthly statements that I have been using for years and have worked in the past.

I have recently noticed that I can scan in a particular statement and after the expected time, I don't get a notification that the file has been moved (the last step of each rule). If I check Rules Status, it will show that the rule was matched x minutes ago, however the file has not been moved. However, as soon as I scan another document, the first one will get moved. It is if Hazel is going into a pause mode after matching a rule until it sees another document to process and then moves the first one out. In a test, I waited 9 minutes on one document and it didn't move until I scanned a second (different rule). The first moved, then the second one sat for 6 minutes until I scanned the third (using a third rule). I then waited 20 minutes until scanning another statement (using a 4th rule) and the third one moved but fourth is still in original folder. So, is there some reason that Hazel is not completing these rules (four separate rules) until the next scan?

Can you go through the troubleshooting guide here? https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/hazel-tro ... ing-guide/

Also, are you proficient with Terminal/the commandline? One thing to check is if the files are where Finder says they are there.
