Where is the location of the rules Sun Oct 22, 2023 7:13 am • by AbwehrchefVC
Hi,
I am currently looking for the location of the Rules to restore them from Time Machine.

Yesterday, a rule from a specific folder was working fine.
This morning, for whatever reason, the folder was gone.

And as it always is in such cases: the export of the rules is already too far back. :shock:

As I suspected, a restore of the Hazel app did not bring the rules back.

So I have to restore them from the location.
But where do I find this location? :?:

I didn't find anything in the help or in the forum.

Thanks for the support
Markus

On this occasion, I have another question.
Why is the status of the rule (enabled or disabled) not exported?
When importing, it is very difficult and time-consuming to restore the original state.

Check out this guide on restoring from backups: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/restoring ... m-backups/

As for activating rules, it's a security feature. It gives you a chance to review a rule when you import it. If you want to bulk enable them, command-click on the checkbox or select all the rules and do Rule->Enable Rules.

Ah, ok.

Is there an option to set dividing lines between the rules?

So for example:

====Bank====
Rule 1
Rule 2
rule 3
====Car====
Rule 4
Rule 5
Rule 6

I have not found an option. But would find it good because of the clarity

You can set up bogus rules for that. Make sure you uncheck them.
