Hick up when finding rules

Hello everyone,
I am experiencing difficulties with Hazel 5.2.2 when a folder contain many different pdfs.
I have many different rules to change names of the pdf based on different contents. I am talking about approx 70 rules in one folder than needs to be checked.
Sometimes (not always!) when I copy a bunch of pdfs into the folder, hazel finds all rules and runs them. But sometimes Hazel seems to have a hickup and does not seem to find any corresponding rule and just passes the file through without changing names. When I re-try (sometimes more than one time!) those pdf files, hazel finally finds corresponding rules and changes the names as it was set-up.
Is there any limitations of rules in a folder or limitations of files in the folder, before hazel gets stuck?
It also seems that this problem came up some weeks or months ago. Before I did not experience those issues at all.
Glad to hear some ideas from anyone.
Best and many thanks
