Adding a new tag

New user of Hazel here. When I want to add a tag to a file, and that tag does not yet exists, Hazel 5 offers the option to create the tag. There is a small circle in front of it with a dashed line. However, it doesn't matter what I do with that selection (clicking, CMD-clicking, <enter>, etc), the tag is not created.
I'm probably overlooking something really obvious here, but: how to I actually add that new tag?
