Does Move File Trigger Rules for Target Folder?

I’m using the “move” action to move a file to a specific folder that is a subfolder.

Folder
—theFile (source position)
—Subfolder
——theFile (target location)

Code: Select all
Move to folder <folder name in dropdown><if file exists: rename the file>

There are Rules in the subfolder but they don’t appear to be firing. The log has no entries for the subfolder.

How do I get the Rules for the subfolder to fire?

When you say you have rules in the subfolder, you mean the subfolder is being monitored by Hazel or do you have a subfolder rule set up on its parent folder? Can you go through the troubleshooting guide here? https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/hazel-tro ... ing-guide/

Yes, I have the subfolder being monitored by Hazel. In other words the subfolder is listed in Hazel’s (left-hand) pane labeled “Folders”. Moreover, if I right-click on it in this Hazel pane, and choose “Run Rules Now” they work correctly.

Again, try the troubleshooting guide and report back with results of each test.
