Hazel with external SSD & Time Machine?

Hi everyone, I’m considering setting up Hazel rules on an external SSD that I also use for Time Machine backups. Has anyone tried this before? I’m wondering if Hazel will run reliably in this setup or if there might be conflicts with Time Machine processes. Any tips or experiences would be appreciated!

What exactly do you want Hazel to do? If you want it to touch your actual backups, I would highly recommend against doing that.

Thanks for the advice! I don’t want Hazel to touch the actual Time Machine backups themselves—just to organize other files I keep on the same external SSD. Do you think that should be safe, or could there still be conflicts with Time Machine running in the background?

I think it should be fine as long as they are in a totally separate folder at the top level.
