Can't access Directory after Upgrade to Mojave (10.14)

Sorry to bother the community with what is more a Mac OS X question, but I guess that some users will have the same problem after the Mojave upgrade.

I use Hazel to collect imessage-attached pictures, which are stored under ~home/Library/Messages/Attachments. When I upgraded to Mojave, this folder was blocked for Hazel access. Log file says:

Processing folder Attachments (forced)
2018-10-07 11:58:03.103 hazelworker[7515] Received error while processing file /Users/xxx/Library/Messages/Attachments: Error Domain=NSCocoaErrorDomain Code=257 "The file “Attachments” couldn’t be opened because you don’t have permission to view it." UserInfo={NSURL=file:///Users/xxx/Library/Messages/Attachments, NSFilePath=/Users/xxx/Library/Messages/Attachments, NSUnderlyingError=0x7f83d95acec0 {Error Domain=NSPOSIXErrorDomain Code=1 "Operation not permitted"}}
2018-10-07 11:58:03.104 hazelworker[7515] Received abort event.
2018-10-07 11:58:03.106 hazelworker[7515] Done processing folder Attachments

I can observe that on the file system level, too. So, this is no generic Hazel problem. However, I do not know how to proceed from here. Here is what the files system situation is:

Library has an ACL. The content of the directory can be read
Messages ha no ACL. The content can not be read (ls command runs against "operation not permitted"
Same below on Attachements, etc.
Ownership is 700, I act as owner or sudo/root. No positive effect.

I removed the ACL on Library: no effect
I added permissive ACL to Library: no effect
I tried to add an ACL to Messages: not allowed.

I'm done so far.
Any hint ?

Thank you
Best,
Ralph

It's a new thing in Mojave. If you find where you installed Hazel, do "Show package contents" and navigate to Contents/MacOS. There, you will find HazelHelper. You'll need to add that to the "Full Disk Access" category in your Privacy settings. I'll try and post an article to the knowledge base later today to go into this in more detail.

works. Thank you.

However an article would be helpful, because the details how to find hazel and how to add hazelhelper are tricky.

Article is available here: https://www.noodlesoft.com/kb/giving-ha ... on-mojave/

Also, next version will have an easier way to get to HazelHelper.

Having followed the procedure suggested in the post above I am still unable to access the Messages folder using Hazel.
If you need additional information let me know. I am not getting any other error except that the Messages folder has the red stop icon on it and Hazel can't see the contents of the folder.

OS Version: 10.14.2 (18C54)
Hazel Version: 4.3.3 (build 1551)

sorry....didn't follow through to the last item on the list.

Allowing `System Preferences` Full Disk Access solved the problem for me.

Actually, I added the last part recently so you wouldn't have known about it if you looked at the instructions before then.
