Does Sync delete files on destination folder

Hi,

New to this so i'm sorry for the dumb question.

I'm copying my Google Drive photos to my external hard drive whenever it is plugged in. Periodically I delete my photos from google drive to free up space on my cloud. My concern is Hazel will delete all the files in the destination folder that are not also on Google Drive. Just looking for confirmation that this is not the case.

Thanks!

As a side note, before I knew about syncing I was attempting to do it like this. It resulted in the same file being copied and multiple times (presumably infinitely). Any idea as to why this was happening?

Still learning.

It won't delete files if you have the copy action and are copying files, not folders. Using the Sync action, depending on how you set it up, may delete files.
