Copy + Renaming images leaves out any metadata Fri Feb 02, 2018 10:11 pm • by Martenzi
I tried to copy images to another folder and sort them into source structure + renaming them with some camera info. It turns out that they can be copied and renamed but any metadata is left out.
I checked the previews and everything index-wise worked out. Hazel can see the metadata but not until a tested a simpler rule of just renaming the already copied file within that folder, the metadata was applied. I first thought that I had copied files to the folder and then renamed the original files, but that was not the case either.

The debug log does not give any indication what I can tell. What do you need from me and how do I attach log or Sc?

It may be the case that the Spotlight is slow to index the file before Hazel gets to it. Instead of doing it in one rule, have Hazel monitor the destination folder and rename it in a separate step.
