Problems with file renaming

Hey guys,

I'm having problems with the file renaming and can't seem to find a solution in this forum...

What happens is that Hazel renames pdf-files based on different rules and changes the file type to "document" while doing so. Most of the time this is no problem but every once in a while (more often in the last couple of weeks) my Mac won't be able to open the document afterwards and will tell me to look for an app in the store to open it with... The file information menu also shows no further preview or anything. The file just seems broke.

How can I stop Hazel from changing the file type all together? Or solve this another way?

In the Rename action, did you remove the "extension" attribute? If so, that would account for the problem. Add it back in to prevent it from happening again.

I feel pretty stupid now because it was so obvious but that solved the problem. Thank you ;-)
