Problems copying files Sat Nov 13, 2010 2:19 pm • by kreng
Hello everyone,
I just downloaded Hazel to try it out and see if it fits my needs. My intention is to place my tv shows torrents in each separate folder according to the show. So what I have done is to create a rule like this:

Folder: Vuze (where my downloads are)
Description: The Big Bang Theory (example)
If ALL of the following conditions are met:
NAME - CONTAINS "big.bang"
Do the following:
COPY FILE - TO FOLDER "The Big Bang Theory" (example)
Options: Replace button is the only one on

So, when a new show starts downloading, Hazel detects it and immediately starts copying it from one folder to the other, but, and here is the problem, it looks like it won't finish copying it, because the the new file stays grayed out...

EDIT: if I go to Hazel and tell it to run the rule, it will work, and it places that grayed out file in the trash!

EDIT 2: and for an even weirder one, now with a different show, it copied the file, kept the grayed out in the destiny folder, and a usable copy in the trash!!!

Maybe something in the rules is not correct? What do you think I should try?

Thanks a lot for your time.

You need to set up Vuze so that finished torrents go to a different folder and have Hazel monitor that. Vuze doesn't use any other mechanism to indicate the file is busy so you need to do this to prevent Hazel from interfering with downloads.
