I am new to hazel and I am trying to perform what I thought was going to be an easy task, but it has not.

Example:
I have an master folder on the desktop "pics" and I will be placing folders (example "pool") with raw image files in them and I want to rename the files in this subfolder to "pool 1", "pool 2" and so on.

I have tried the subfolder rules "greater than 0" and "is 1" along with the "kind is raw" or "extension is .cr2".

I then tried "run on folder contents", but I can only get down one level.

I need help.

Please read the sticky topic near the top of the forum concerning handling subfolders: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=470

My guess is you are mixing two different rules into one. Also, run it on test files/folders as people seem to underestimate how extensively it operates.

Once you get that part working, look in the help about renaming files. In particular, you can probably use the "source folder" attribute (look that up in the help as well) plus the file counter attribute (the one with the # symbol).
