Problem with document / PDF

Ive been using Hazel for years but a couple of months ago it started not working properly.
Ive got problems with "documents". Ive got many rules checking for "kind is document" and the stopped working suddenly. Im afraid I have no idea what I could have changed when they stopped.
Ive got another "kind" in my selection drop down which says "PDF". From now on I have to make a difference for my rules whether I wanna check for "document" or "PDF".
But thats not the point. The point is: These rules dont match at all from time to time. Very, very often the rule does not match my "document" though it should because I am checking for KIND = document OR kind = PDF.
I have to start the rules manually or remove and add the document file new to my folder.
Does anybody have any idea how and why my hazel brokedown and what I can do to get it back to work like it did the whole time in the past?
The point, which is really curios, is, that the "preview" highlights "Kind" red though the rule is checking exactly for this kind
