I have Hazel set to delete items in the trash after 1 week. I just looked at my trash and there are many items in there over a year old. In the log it shows some items are being deleted, but many aren't. The files in there aren't protected by permission issues either.

Check the logs for messages pertaining to those files in particular. Post/email the messages you find.

There are no file names mentioned in the log. Here is one example of a trash purge. There is no file name mentioned:

2017-04-16 13:15:12.170 hazelworker[26280] File configd-pattern.plist has been sitting in the trash for too long. Purging.

I have some instances of below but I don't have any permissions set:

2017-04-16 11:00:51.594 hazelworker[25978] Secure delete operation was successful but file still exists. Probably a permissions issue.

That log message does mention "configd-pattern.plist". That is the filename in this case. I believe I already responded in email, but there is some permissions issue with deleting that file. If you try deleting that file manually and it prompts you for a password, then that confirms the permissions issue. In such a case, you will have to delete such files manually.

I was able to delete that file without a password.
