Can find password to upload server

Hello,

I'm creating a set of Hazel rules on my Downloads folder, that is configured to synchronize with Hazel running on other computers.

One of the rules is set to upload old files found in my Downloads folder, to an "Inbox" folder on a remote server I manage.

This rule is failing, with the following error (where I've redacted my hostname):

Code: Select all
2017-04-12 14:14:59.998 HazelHelper[579] Unable to retrieve internet password for administrator@{mydomain}: -25300 - Error Domain=NSOSStatusErrorDomain Code=-25300 "errKCItemNotFound / errSecItemNotFound:  / The item cannot be found."

So it seems that Hazel (v 4.0.9) is not storing the server's password in the keychain.

Any ideas?

Is your keychain synced? If not, then try editing the rule on that machine and entering the password there.

This is the very first machine that the rule is being created on, so syncing to another machine (I think) isn't relevant (yet).

For what it's worth:

- I find one entry in my OS X keychain for this server, which was created by another application (on a different date).

- I do not find any entry in the OS X keychain created today (which I would expect if Hazel added the password to the keychain).

I'm running the latest version of Sierra.

As a test, can you try removing the other keychain item, editing the rule in Hazel again and seeing if it works after that?

Ok, it turned out there were two entries in the keychain that seem to have been created by Hazel. One was an ftps:// entry, and one an ftp:// entry. I deleted them both, edited the server in Hazel, and it created an ssh:// entry in the Keychain that is working.

This would appear to be a bug, as I certainly didn't specify the server to be FTP or FTPS before. (I'm pretty sure I chose an SFTP option, like all my apps...)

Not sure but if you see the entries pop up again, email support.
