Hi Folks

Total n00b to Hazel so please be gentle :-)

I want to move songs in 1 Mac's iTunes to another Mac's iTunes based on label color. My rule currently looks like this:

It does nothing. What have I done wrong?

Thanks in advance.
Drew.

Are you trying to get Hazel to go into subfolders? If so, then please read sticky article at the top of the forum about how to do that. You need to split your rule into two to accomplish what you want.

I originally applied the logic contained within the subfolder sticky, it did not work hence my posting for help (albeit with a modified workflow).

I have no idea what that means or how to achieve it, as stated in my original post I am completely new to Hazel, would you be so kind as to elucidate your response, please?

Your rule resembles the example with the X through it (meaning don't do this). You are trying to combine two different things into one rule. Check out the article again. The rule in there: don't touch it. Use it as is. You'll then need a separate rule to deal with the files in the folder.

How? As already stated I do not know anything about Hazel, i'm just trying to see if it can perform this task and therefore i'll buy it. If I knew how to do what you say I wouldn't need to ask for help so your answer is not really helping. how do I create a second rule that interacts with the first rule?

Do you have an example you could share?

Don't worry about the other rule. Create your rule as if the files were at the top level.
