uploade to itunes from complex folder and move to new fol

Hello

my base folder grew very unstructured over time with a key folder, subfolders, subfolders within, music files on all levels.

So I wanted to run a rule that would identify upload-able folders and files, upload them, color them green, tag them ‘uploaded to iTunes with Hazel and copy them into a new music folder with only one level of hierarchy (individual files or folders all underneath the main folder’.

Here is a link to the rule I wrote:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9k84m2qrvrzio ... g.png?dl=0

While it uploaded and moved a lot of files, it didn’t clor subfolders nor individual files, didn’t add the tag and certainly the resulting new music folder has all the complexity and structure as the original folder (even though in options I did not choose copy parent folder structure).

Can you help me identify what is wrong with the rule? That would be greatly appreciated!

Best regards,
Gilles

The rule as you have it does not make sense. No item can be both a folder or music file. I think you are trying to combine logic for two different things.

If you want Hazel to go into subfolders, please read the sticky article at the top of this forum. Read it VERY carefully. Your rule looks like the example with the red X (which means, DON'T DO THIS). You need to think about splitting up your rules into things that match files and things that match the folders that contain them.

Give that a shot and report back if you get stuck on anything in particular.
