Rename Rules

Is it possible to rename rules?

I have about fifteen different rules on folders that are often similarly named and after some time it's difficult to remember which is which!

This is not a huge deal but I can't seem to figure out a way to better organize my rules (by default it seems to only be based on the target folder).

Yes, you can rename rules by clicking once on the rule name. Wait a second and it should be editable.

As for dealing with a large quantity of rules, you may want to look into consolidating them somehow. I'd need more details on what your rules are to provide more guidance on this.

Sorry, I posted incorrectly initially. I meant if I could rename the target folders.

For an example, I have folders on my external drive and on my internal SSD that are similarly named but have different rules.
I know that I can hover to see the path of the folder but I was wondering if there was a way to rename target drive so that I could write something like "Backup of external" vs. "Backup of internal" etc.

No way to do that at the moment. One thing you can do is to give them different icons. They will show up in Hazel as well.

Hi @Mr_Noodle - will this renaming of folders be on your feature list?

I have several target folders with the same 'Archive' folder or 'backup' folder name...
Sometimes i forget which 'backup' folder on the path name, an annoyance but not the end of the world...

It's on the feature list but no notion of if/when it will be implemented. For now, I think different icons is probably the best workaround.
