I´m using a ScanSnap to scan my expenses as PDFs to a folder on my Mac (running Sierra).

From there I want them to go to A) Evernote and B) Debitoor, my bookkeeping software. In Evernote I want to store the files with a name like "date of purchase what did I buy the price" (e.g. 2017-02-14 Flowers for my wife 59,95) without an extension.

Then I want to mail the expenses to Debitoor. Unfortunately Debitoor doesn´t understand 2017-02-14, it rather needs 14.02.2017 to save the expense on the right date.

I figured out how to pop up an input box to put in the desired "original filename" for Evernote. What I didn´t find is a solution to automatically change the filename

from "2017-02-14 Flowers for my wife 59,95"
to "14.02.2017 Flowers for my wife 59,95".

Is there a way Hazel can do this? Any help is highly appreciated!

You can create a custom date attribute to match the date at the beginning. Then use the Rename action. In the rename pattern, include the custom date attribute, then click on it. There you can reformat it to the form Debitoor requires.

Could you, by any chance, provide me with a manual on how to do that? I seem to can´t find how to start.
