Run a script in a matched subfolder. Sat Jan 21, 2017 3:35 pm • by MaestroJAL
Hello All,

I use Hazel to keep my media folders organized. I have a script that converts my DVR recordings into more manageable mp4 files. My rules start at the (TV Shows) folder and move down through the sub-folders. I can get Hazel to both find and successfully run the script on the files. My problem is that Hazel runs the script in the top level of the folder heirarchy, meaning that my converted media file is created in (TV Shows) and not (TV Shows/Name of Show/Season/Episode.mp4) where it was originally found. I can build rules for all of my seasons for all of my shows, but really don't want to as this would be majorly time-consuming.

Can Hazel run the script in the sub-folder once it matches a file?

Thanks in advance,

Maestro

Check the sticky article at the top of this forum on going into subfolders. You basically have to create a separate rule to tell Hazel to go into subfolders and run rules there.
