Matched but no Action taken

I have a rule which checks for
1. name starts with, AND
2. date last modified is greater than date last matched

When the rule matches, it then attempts the action. For whatever reason (I'm investigating, but this has nothing to do with Hazel), the file is sometimes "busy" and so the requested action doesn't happen (copy into a new folder).

However, I would like it so that Hazel will keep attempting to do the copy for me. However, since the matched date is now after the last modified date, Hazel will never see a matched rule to then do the action.

I've looked and can't find anything in the rule set which looks for a successful action; or maybe it's my not seeing what is there. Or is there another strategy for achieving this?

Hazel should re-try in this case. I don't think the date last matched is updated until the rule executes correctly. Are you seeing otherwise?

Yes. After the failure, I then go into Edit the rule and do a Preview. I pick the target files. Rule fails and when I click on the "x" for the rule that checks if modified is after the last matched date, the last modified date is before matched date as it appears the matched date is updated. I'm not sure how I can go about showing this to you.

Can you post/email the logs mentioning the file in question? If the file is busy, it shouldn't be evaluated by any rules in the first place. I'm guessing that the rule did execute successfully at some point.

OK. But I have to wait for the situation where the file is busy. I've not yet figured out what is causing the file to be "busy".
