PDF turns into .dat, why

I'm trying to evaluate Hazel. I got my first rule to work after reOCRing my pdf file. All my rule does is move and rename a file. Why did the file type change? Did I miss an option?

When renaming, did you get rid of the "extension" attribute? If so, that would affect your file type.
