Hi I am a newbie to Hazel and wish to do one thing via Hazel if it can be done.

I have a number of music files but each folder is prefixed by 001.002 etc so for example 001 Bon Jovi.
I wish to remove the 001 from the folder name so they can be stored in alphabetical order.
Is this possible?

Search the help for match patterns. Using those, you can match the first three digits and then capture the rest into a custom attribute which you can then use the rename the file.

Unfortunately I have searched the forum for match patterns which I am sure is easy to use when you know how but I have been unable to see how the match pattern concept works.
Can you point me in the right direction please

Having trawled previous posts the answer seems to be search HELP for Match patterns but which is the help,is it forum search or search for keywords as I am struggling to find the answer,

In Hazel, you can access the help via the Help menu or the ? buttons in the interface.
