I'd like to use Hazel to do the following:

1. Monitor a Dropbox folder
2. Any new files found: Print in Word
3. Once printed, move the files out of the monitored folder into a "printed files" folder

Is there a way to do this? I've never used Hazel before.

My take on this is that you will need to create an Automator workflow that prints documents when files are added to it. I did a video that explains it some here. In Automator you want to create a printing workflow, save it, and then attach it to your Hazel folder action, so that any files dropped into that folder will automatically execute the printing process. I haven’t tried this set up yet, but I think it should work.

But yes, Bakari is correct. The way to do that now is to create an Automator workflow and triggering that. Thanks for the video. When creating the workflow, it's better to choose "Workflow" as the type and make sure that you don't do the "Get Specified Finder Items" action at the beginning. You want to just use the "Print Finder Items" action by itself. Hazel will pass the file in.

I have been successful printing PDF files by choosing “Open File” and then for the application choose “Other…” and then navigate to ~/Library/Printers/ and then select your printer. This probably only works for PDF files since most printers can print them without needing an application to do so.
