Automatically merge Events in iPhoto?

I'm trying to get Hazel to automatically add newly downloaded photos to iPhoto....however, i end up getting multiple events of the same thing....is there a way to use Hazel to automatically merge these Events (since all of the photos are from the same file folder.?)
