Should disabled Hazel rules continue when folder returns?

I have Hazel running rules on a folder that isn't always there – I delete the folder and create a new one with the same name in its place every-so-often.

Obviously when the folder is deleted, Hazel disables the rules. When the new folder with the identical name is created, however, Hazel appears to enable the rules again (the red tick disappears in the menu), but the rules do not run, even though they match a number of files. Forcing the folder rules to run works fine.

Is this a bug in Hazel? I can offer more information if it'll help troubleshoot, I'm just trying to be concise!
Obligatory Hazel admiration – incredible software, I sing it's praises almost daily.

Thanks

Probably not a good idea to delete the folder. Hazel uses an alias linked to the file. Sometimes it can re-link successfully but not always. You might want to look into a way to do it without deleting the folder.

Yeah, that makes sense. I'll likely just move and manipulate the folders away from my desktop, so I can keep it as clear as I like.
Cheers, MN!
