Seemingly simple problem - not matching a certain document

Hi All,

I'm new here so I apologize if I've asked an age all question, but I did have a look through the forums to no avail.

So Hazel isn't matching a certain file in a folder where all the other files are being matched successfully.

Here's a little context, I'm duplicating my iTunes data files ('iTunes Music Library.xml', 'iTunes Library.itl', etc.) from my HDD onto my Dropbox, which then in turn, archives the last 25 instances of each file, so that I have a reliable backup of my iTunes data whilst I mirror my iTunes library between two machines.

I've got Hazel looking for 'Date Last Modified' - 'Did Change' and this works perfectly for all the documents except 'iTunes Library.itl' which only matches and then duplicates when I close iTunes, despite the actual Date Modified changing every time a song is played.

When I click on the eye symbol in Hazel 'iTunes Library.itl' is the only document that has a listing under 'Rules Matched' (even though all the other documents are being matched and then duplicated successfully)

Any help would be much appreciated!

Turn on debug mode (see sticky article) and then check the logs. It's a guess, but I'm wondering if the file is considered "busy" as iTunes has it open. If that is the case, Hazel won't process it until the file is closed.

yep you are totally correct, it's saying iTunes Library.itl is busy, skipping for now.

There doesn't happen to be a workaround for this by any chance?

Hazel won't process the file and there is no good override for that. It's a bad idea to do so as the file could be in an inconsistent/corrupted state if you copy it while busy.
