I installed the beta of macOS Sierra and have not been able to upgrade to Hazel 4 on it. Hazel 3 appeared to be working normally, but if I try to either upgrade or install Hazel 4 I get the following error:



I have tried:

• Restarting the computer
• Updating the beta
• Uninstalling Hazel 3 (so as to do a clean install of Hazel 4)
• Downloading a new copy of the DMG

If anyone has any advice I'll happily try anything, I just want Hazel installed again!

Note that you should not be running the Sierra beta if it's important to you at all. It is a beta for a reason and not meant for any critical work. In the very least, you should be installing it on a backup machine or using Parallels/VMWare.

As for the error, look in the Console and post any error messages there.

Of course, this is my secondary machine and nothing is mission critical on it, but it's nice to try and get things running the way they usually do elsewhere.

I went to try and do this, and Hazel installed. The only difference today is I forgot to change things to "install for all users" and installed it just for this account (which is actually fine). I went to the console to see if I had anything from the previous attempts but nothing shows up.

Just updated to macOS Sierra today, and I'm having a bit of trouble with app sweep. It's not allowing Hazel to remove the supporting files when an app is put in the trash. Error files below.

It seems to be a permissions issue. It should normally prompt for your password but it's possible that part didn't trigger. In that case, you'll have to remove those files manually.
