How do I find out how to make Hazel do what I want?

I would hope there would be a manual available somewhere. I find references in the Board to capabilities I don't know how to access, and it's frustrating. Maybe I can eventually find what I need to know in the menus, but I'm not sure. I find references in the Board to "match" ing, but I haven't found any such in the menus yet. I can add the current date to a file name, but only in the format yyyy-mm-dd, where I'm used to using yymmdd. Can I get that to happen?

Any advice will be appreciated. --Jim

There is in-app help accessible via the help menu as well as the ? buttons in the interface.

To re-format the date, click on the date in your pattern. There will be an option to edit the format. There you can change it to whatever you want.

Thanks. I found out how to adjust the format of the date. I had to experiment where the editing was hidden, but I found it.

Hi Jim,

You might want to check out David Sparks' Hazel Video Field Guide at http://macsparky.com

It may be the best $19.99 you'll ever spend. At MacSparky's website there is a link to download a complimentary 35 minute sample.

Good luck!
