Copy file does not copy all files Tue Jul 12, 2016 8:22 pm • by Karl.Browning
Hazel monitors for a folder contained on a SD Card (photos from camera). Then copies them to another folder on the desktop, renames them, and sorts into sub-folders. I end up with a folder containing .jpg files and a folder containing raw (.orf) files.

Consistently, Hazel does not copy the first raw file. In finder on the SD card, names look like this:
name1.jpg
name1.orf
name2.jpg
name2.orf
...

the name1.jpg works as is is supposed to all of the time, as do all of the .jpg files.
the name1.orf is never copied or renamed.

Occasionally, another .orf file is not copied and renamed but I cannot identify the pattern for when. At the moment I am performing a file compare excluding file extension in order to make sure I don't lose one of my important raw photo files.

Any thoughts on how I might make sure that all files are correctly handled?
Thanx
Karl

Are the files in a subfolder of the monitored folder? Are you running 4.0.3? If not, try updating and see if that clears things up.

I just now installed 4.0.3 and will test that during the next few days.

To answer your questions: the files are in a subfolder of the main folder:
DCIM>100OLYMP>files
The folder being monitored is 100OLYMP.

Try it out and email/post the logs when you find a case where it isn't working.
