Applescript to send mail

I don't know Applescript but was looking for a way to send an email when a file is added to a folder. I want the email to be sent to a specific address with the subject preset (possibly including the current date but not critical). I don't want any attachment. I would also like to prepopulate the body of the message.
Could someone give me an example of how to do this? I'd really appreciate it.

I used automator to send email doing something that is similar in concept to your task - refer

Was trying to get the example you point to but looks like it was deleted. Could you post again? I'm trying to get hazel to send a mail when a file is added to plex folder
