This eludes me... Auto saving Mail attachments

Am I just blind or what? How can I get Hazel to take action on Mail attachments if I can't get the attachments to auto download? Where are the solutions to auto downloading Mail attachments depending upon Subject or From, etc.? I don't want complicated Apple Scripts, etc. because I usually can't follow how to edit them. I don't even see this subject approached here but I'm humble enough to be corrected.

Frustratingly grateful!

Hazel can't really force Mail to download the attachments. There is the Mail downloads folder which Hazel can monitor but as far as I know, that only gets populated by attachment that you open in Mail. You may need to look into having a Mail rule to do what you want.

Unfortunately I've never found any Mail rule that will download attachments. I have no idea why one has never been written into Mail but I'm pretty sure there's not one there. I can't find anything that will do it so trying to get Hazel to work its magic on attachments is going to have to involve some sort of manual process of downloading attachments which is a pain.

Check out this page as it looks like some people have figured out how to do it via AppleScript: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1787732?tstart=0
