Hazel Periodically Deleting Folders & Rules

Hi,

Hazel is randomly deleting rules and folders (in the preference pane, not the folders themselves) to which rules are assigned. It's occurred with 3.x versions on an ongoing (seemingly random) occaisional basis, and has done it twice in the past 24 hrs on version 4.0.1. - once during the day while using the machine, and once this evening while the machine was idle.

I thought it was something I might have done in the past, but today made it clear that it didn't require any input or action on my part.

I'm running 10.11.4.

Hope you have a "fix. I love Hazel but this is really irritating when you count on the app.

Thanks!

Are you running any sort of "cleaner" apps, like MacKeeper? If so, I would try disabling them and seeing if that fixes things. Also, launch Console and check the logs. If you can narrow down the time these events happens, maybe you can find what the system is doing then which might be causing it.

You sir, are a genius. :)

I just ran Macbooster, and voila! Rules and folders are gonzo.

I can put folders on it's ignore list. Where does Hazel store it's settings for folders and rules combo?

Checked the log for Macbooster. For whatever reason, it was deleting the Hazel preference file. Really dumb behavior, but easily fixed.

Thanks again.

Personally, I'd be very careful with many of these cleaner apps. Many aren't particularly careful and can continue to cause problems for other apps on the system.
