When you use Hazel to remove a cloned copy of 1Password on an emergency boot drive (1Password Mini is pretty fussy with multiple copies) Hazel fails. So far I cannot figure why . I have tried Move to Trash (after selecting a folder and filename search before move) and also a rename and move process. Neither work. I think this is something to do with access privs. Has anyone got an idea how to do this. Many thanks in anticipation.

Can you do it manually in Finder? If so, does it prompt for a password?

Yes it prompts for password. I 'assume' that is because the clone drive is a proper duplicate

I really can't say as I don't use the programs in question myself. You might want to check with the developers of those programs to get more details on why the permissions are set as they are.

Many thanks for your help. The problem is very much one of AgileBits but it is possibly be something that be incorporated into Hazel going forward.

Thanks for another nice 'fit and forget' application, that just does what it is told to do. and for Don McAllister pointing it out too.

You can look into writing a script to either change the permissions or move the file yourself. Hazel won't move privileged files itself as it runs in the background and avoids bringing up any UI.
