Manage Browser Bookmarks with Hazel

I have only been using Hazel for a couple of days and I am new to the idea of the tool, I haven't been able to deep dive yet. One of the first rules I looked into creating was a way to archive and remove stale bookmarks from my browser(s) and I have been unable to find a way to do it. After some web searches it looks like using 3rd party tools for this might be bad practice and is not recommended, but I thought I would ask out here on the forum to see if anybody else has any ideas or something to say about it. Thanks :)

You'd need something to run inside the browser or manipulate the files the browser stores your bookmarks in, the latter being risky. Definitely not something for Hazel though, unless the bookmarks happen to be stored individually, one file for each bookmark.

Thanks, I thought that might have been the answer. Browsers used to store bookmarks as individual files right? I did go looking around in Chrome and found that all the bookmark data is now saved in just a singular file, looks kind of like a txt file. Oh well, would have been cool to automate bookmark cleanup.

I think they've always put them into a single file but admittedly I don't pay a ton of attention to this type of thing.
