Hello noodlers,

I am trying right now to set up a rule that sorts downloaded files in folders that are named after the domain they are downloaded from (automatically, not by filtering specific domains - I now that is possible):

PDF / gmail.com
PDF / xybank.com
PDF / someotherdomain.org

The trouble I run into is that I can get to the source URL as a part of the folder name, but I have no idea how to isolate the domain name of that URL (and, clearly, I cannot use the full URL as part of a folder name).

Help would be greatly appreciated!

Are you using the "domain" field? That should just be the domain and not the full URL. Also, if you click on it in your pattern, in the menu, you should see options to format the domain further.
