Using Hazel to label the most recent version of a file...

So.
I work in visual effects, and as I composite, I generate new versions of my comp scripts constantly.
After a while, the folder ends up difficult to read and I'd like to use HAZEL to color label the newest version of any file in the folder.

Example:
fo_070_v01.nk
fo_070_v02.nk
fo_290_cp_v01.nk
fo_300_cp_v01.nk
fo_320_cp_v01.nk
fo_320_cp_v02.nk
fo_330_cp_v03.nk
fo_330_cp_v04.nk
fo_330_cp_v05.nk

What I would love is for HAZEL to monitor the folder as each time I save a new version of a script, to color code it.

Example:
fo_070_v01.nk
fo_070_v02.nk
fo_290_cp_v01.nk
fo_300_cp_v01.nk
fo_320_cp_v01.nk
fo_320_cp_v02.nk
fo_330_cp_v03.nk
fo_330_cp_v04.nk
fo_330_cp_v05.nk

Is that possible?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I am beginning to think that the best way to do this is to have hazel sort into sub-folders first if that is possible with your setup.

Sorting the files into subfolders based on the filename is cake, and from there you can easily color coat the most recent one by:
Match (file modified within 5 minutes) and color Red; Match (all files) and color None

I am at my work computer right now without the benefit of Hazel in front of me (Windows XP...........), so I can't test this idea.

I don't think there's a good way to do this exactly. You can have Hazel mark "recent" but not "most recent" based on some user defined patterns. Also, looking at your example, it's not clear to me what your pattern is exactly. Why aren't fo_290... and fo_300... colored?

At the moment, I think that a script is the only way to do this right now.

they should also have been colored, my error.
I was trying to focus on files that have multiple versions.
fo_290 and fo_300 only have one, but indeed, they would also have to be colored.

the idea of grouping them all into separate folders would work, although it makes for a lot of folders...which I suppose is not a problem.
