copy to two places, remove the original? Sun Oct 18, 2015 5:40 am • by cms7912
The 'copy', 'move', and 'continue matching rules' have me flummoxed on how to do a relatively simple task--When a new file is added to Folder A then copy it to two destinations, Folder A and Folder B, and delete the source file.

Folder A - source
Folder B - destination
Folder C - destination

When using the 'move' action then 'continue matching rules' is grayed out no longer available as a next action. This allows moving from Folder A to Folder B, but no way to copy to folder C.

With the 'copy' action - the focus of Hazel shifts to the newly created file in Folder B and next actions are preformed only on the newly created file. This allows 'copy' action again to Folder C, but no way to delete the source file in Folder A.

How can Hazel take new file is added to Folder A then copy it to two destinations, Folder A and Folder B, and delete the source file?

Thanks in advance!

You can't continue on a rule if the rule moves the file elsewhere. Why not have both actions in the same rule? Do a move then copy?
