finder tag file rule based on video specs ? Mon Oct 05, 2015 11:07 am • by ismajc
Hello,

I'm new to Hazel and I was wondering if I can use this app to tag my video files based on their metadata specifications ?

For example, if a video has specifications such as 1920X1080, 25FPS, H264, I would like to add tags #1920X1080, #25FPS, #H264, and of course automatize it. Is it something we can do with Hazel ?

I don't know if it can help, but I can generate a .txt or .xls file with the mediainfo app and this file can store all my videospecs and the path's file.

Thank you in advance

If you are referring to OS X's tags, then it should be doable. A lot depends on the details. I suggest running the trial to make sure it works how you expect. Having that info in a separate file makes things more complicated since you'll have to write your own script to parse it. From what you've described you should be able to do this built-in metadata.
