Sharing or reusing rules for multiple watched folders?

Hello all --

I'd like to apply the same set of rules to a small number of watched folders. I know I can clone the rules for each folder, but I'm wondering if there is a smarter way to link the same ruleset to multiple top-level folders, such that edits to the rules only need to be made in one place (vs re-copied to each folder's ruleset).

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Ramon

Nothing right now. This is being consider for 4.0 as part of the rule syncing feature though.

It does get complicated since it's a one to many relation.Perhaps the rules are handle like an ala cart menu where you apply a centrally stored rule to any folder. An update to the rule affects all folders the that rule is applied to. If easier to manage from a rule definition point of view, but a mistake on the master copy of the rule could cause more havoc.

I suggest checking the 4.0 beta to see how it's currently implemented. Since it's still in beta though, keep all discussion of it in the beta forum.
