The date format in my file is 8APR15. I have set up my date match to read that just fine with 12dec99. But when my file is renames, I am using the 1999 - 12 - 31 format.

My file is renames 2008-08-12. Any idea what I am doing wrong?

The format you read in and the format you use when renaming are separate things. In your rename pattern, click on the date and set its format to what you want.
