Mixed filetype move not working Sun Apr 26, 2015 1:54 pm • by indigo146
Hi All,

This seems simple but I can't get Hazel to do what I want.

I have a large folder full of old videos of various formats, I'd like to sort these into specific folders as currently they're all in one folder or subfolders.

So I've set up a rule that says:

If all are met > Kind is Movie > Extension is "mov mp4 mkv" > Name contains "Vacation 2008" > Move to "Vaction 2008 Folder"

I've tried removing the extension section of my rule and even this hasn't had any effect.

Little help?

Are you specifying a bunch of extensions in the field? If so, you can't do that. You have to use separate conditions for each extension you want to match against.

No they are separate so:

If extension is: mp4
If extension is: mkv
If extension is: mov

Try using the preview (the "eye" button) to check your rules. If they don't match there then there is some logic issue that needs to be addressed. You can also click on the "i" button there to see the attributes as Hazel sees them.
