Delete files from NAS, not move to Trash? Tue Apr 21, 2015 10:50 am • by f0wlerUK
Hey all,

I've moved my torrent downloads away from my Mac, and now let my Synology NAS get everything down, I have my conversion program watching a folder, that converts the MKV's to M4V's and then moves the original MKV's to a 'To Be Deleted' folder.

As the NAS doesn't have anything like Hazel, I have Hazel watching the 'To Be Deleted' folder and once an MKV gets added I have it move it to Trash.

Everything works well, but the problem is I'm wondering if there is an easier way to actually delete the files from the NAS rather than them getting moved from the NAS to my Mac's Trash and then me deleting it (with Hazel trash rules)

I've looked at the options in Hazel, and there doesn't seem to be a 'delete' trigger, so I'm thinking some sort of Script might be needed.

Does anyone else have any ideas of the best way round this?

Cheers,

Paul.

There is no delete rule by design, since it's too easy to make a horrible mistake. I would advise against deleting things outright. So I guess no, there isn't an easier way.
