Hi. I have a series of rules I use for photo management that I have been using successfully on many hundreds of files, though at most on 50 at a time. I recently dragged over 100 files to the watched folder, and the rules did not do anything on most of them. However, in Preview mode I can see that the rules ARE being matched. And in the console log I see entries such as:

2015-02-09 21:32:38.413 hazelworker[78154] DSCN1097.JPG: Rule Photo Management: If photo has exif data rename matched.

It seems like something happened to mess Hazel up, and now these files will no longer work within Hazel (new files DO work). Is there a way to make Hazel forget it examined these files so I can try again? Or is there something else I might be overlooking?

Are these files that were already processed that you moved back into the folder? If you run rules manually, that will force them to be run again.

Hi, and thanks for the reply. I did eventually move them out once I realized they were not being run. Putting them back and running the rules manually doesn't do anything, though. I guess that indicates a different problem then?

Do the files match in the preview? If not, then you need to double-check your rule logic. Otherwise, turn on debug mode as described here: viewtopic.php?f=4&t=296

Then post/email an expanded log with that setting on.

Got it working now. Was running a shell script and changed $1 to "$1". Not sure why it worked on so many files before the change. Thanks for your help.

It may be that the files before didn't have a space in the name/path, which the double-quotes protect against.
