Hi guys.

I was wondering if you all could cast your eye on this recipe and help me out.

I want to organise images into folders on my external hard drive. In the most part, it works.

I remane them into events using a file renamer. Then I colour them 'green' and they get moved to the external drive and then the recipe runs.

The problems comes when there is an event that goes over more than one day. Then I end up with a different folder, for the same event on different days.

i.e

2014-12-11 - Christmas Party
2014-12-12 - Christmas Party

Do you know if there is a way to have all the images and movies go into the same event folder even if they span a couple of days?

Cheers in advance for your help.

What defines an event here? How is Hazel supposed to differentiate between an item belonging to a previous event and a new one?

Hello sir, many thanks for the reply.

That's very true, there is no way at the moment. I was wondering if there was a way that Hazel could pick up on the Name part and ignore the date part as far at it comes to putting them in a folder.

My mind isn't cleaver enough to make a recipe that would do it. I think I am close.

Unfortunately, there's no way to sort into a subfolder with a partial name (though such a thing is on the feature list). You'll have to write a script to do that part.
