Hello,

I am seeing "A document Being Saved by Hazelworker..." I have 45 folders like this. What are these? they appear in the root of a folder I am trying to run the basic sync rules on. Not in the actual folder itself but the root.

Thanks for the guidance

Troy

That's something being generated by the OS in response to some action Hazel is doing. Is the process crashing or otherwise being interrupted? Go to your Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports and see if there are any files there for hazelworker.

I am also getting many empty folders (A Document Being Saved By hazelworker 2) created on my synced folders.

I downloaded the sync rules, and edit accordingly. The synced folder is on external HDD, every time a file is synced, the (A Document Being Saved By hazelworker 2) is created. I checked the diagnostic as suggested, there is no crash.

Where are these being created? At the top level or does it also appear for any subfiles/subfolders that are part of the sync?

Usually on the top level of the synced folders, in this case, top level of #shop.

Update: After the first day, it doesn’t happen anymore.

Keep an eye on it. If you can catch it in the act, grab the logs from when it happens and send them over.

What was the solution to this? I'm seeing these folders created in the destination directory every time Hazel moves a file (MacOS 10.12.4 Sierra).

Thanks.

Can you provide more details? Keep in mind that this issue is different for everyone so the specific circumstances are important.

For example, are the source and destination on different drives? Is there anything of note of each of the drives, like whether one or the other is a network share or a Dropbox folder? Can you provide log messages of these moves?

I have the same issue on latest sierra (but I have it for months) where I have a rule archiving folders starting with site_ and it worked flawlessly for a long time but it is getting weird if I have 125 folders in a folder where I work on the site. I have the sites on a Synology NAS with latest firmare and connect to it through gigabit ethernet.

I even tried making a rule to remove these but it doesn't do the job.

As mentioned before, please post/email logs as every case is different and I can't make any assessments without them.

The end shows that Hazel was interrupted. Did you do this by stopping it?

Yes. I stopped the process because I didn't want the folders to continue to pile up. I wasn't sure what was happening. What do you suggest?

How many were appearing? Also, can you tell me more about the destination drive? By the pathname, it looks like it's a NAS so more details there would be helpful.

It looked like for each file that was placed into subfolders, a new folder "A document being saved by hazel worker" would appear. I have thousands of photos that I am restructuring on my NAS. The NAS is a FREENAS build (latest stable version). I'm not currently at home and so I don't have all the details right now.
