Renaming Doesn't Always Work Mon Jul 07, 2014 7:25 pm • by cwills
I have a rule setup to rename files put into a folder to:

name_device make_device model_date created.extension

For some reason the device make, device model, and date creation are not consistently applied to the file name. I can copy the same file into the folder to be renamed and get 2 different results - some times the device type is missing and sometimes I get a generic date. Is there a reason why these attributes aren't applied each time accurately?

After the files are renamed there is another rule that moves them to another folder.

Thank you,
Chris

Check the actual values in Finder and make sure they are all set. If not, then there is probably a Spotlight issue. Also, check the logs and see if there are any errors there.
