I am trying to set up a folder that would be imported to iPhoto but I always get the error message failed to import even though the images get imported. But Hazel seems to stop at that point because the move command doesn't get executed.

Did you email me with this problem? If so, then you may want to limit it to one channel or the other so I don't have to re-type my answers in both places.

If you weren't the one that emailed me, then go check the logs by going to the "Info" section and clicking on the "View Log" button. Look for any errors concerning the iPhoto import and post them here (or email me).

yeah I was. I realized later that posting might have been the better solution. But thanks for the quick response.
